注意1：タクシーには乗るな
　筆者は駐在期間中の5年間、1度もタクシーには乗りませんでした。よく現地の連中から、「タクシーの運転手は、強盗と一緒だ」と言われていました。

注意2：レンタカーは借りるな
慣れてくると自分で自家用車を運転するのですが、慣れないうちに南アフリカでクルマを運転することは非常に危険です。


注意3：赤信号で止まるな

　よく現地の白人からこう言われました。　「夜は、たとえ赤信号でも交差点で停車してはいけない。クルマが来ない場合は無視して進むことだ」


注意4：街中は歩くな
　移動は徒歩のような「線」で動くのではなく、必ずクルマで「点」と「点」を結ぶ形をとって移動してください。歩きたければ、ショッピングモールの中か、ゴルフ場だけにしたほうが身のため。


注意5：電熱線と赤外線センサーで防御

注意6：ダウンタウンとヨハネスブルグ中央駅だけは近付くな
